Overview

San José de Pare is a municipality in the Colombian Department of Boyacá, part of the the subregion of the Ricaurte Province. It was founded on 3 November 1780,

"Yellow represents the income generated by the agricultural calling while green represents the great diversity of crops produced in our municipality, especially sugarcane and coffee."
Sugarcane used to product "panela" (natural brown sugar) is grown on 5,465 ha, that is 74% of the municipal territory. Coffee is the second biggest crop after sugarcane.
