Translated from municipal
web site: "Author: Donelis Cabarcas Avila. [The flag] is
made of three vertical stripes placed in the following order:
Green [symbolizes] faith and hope, the mountains that surrounds
our municiaplity andthe agricultural resources. White symbolizes
peace, equity and transparency. Blue symbolizes the magnificence
of Reservoir Guájaro that waters our territory and the immensity
of our blue sky."
Reservoir Guájaro ("Embalse del Guájaro") covers a
great part (16,000 ha) of the flood plains of the River Magdalena
watershed. It is used both for the production of electricity and
fishing.
