Translated from municipal
web site: "Green symbolizes the vegetation of Palmar and
the hope in a better future. White symbolizes peace, since our
municipality is peaceful, tolerant and Christian. Blue symbolizes
the beauftiul, full of dreams, sky upon our
municipality and the waters of [River] Magdalena which
waters and refreshes our lands."
The Magdalena forms the eastern border of the municipality.
The top frame of the municipal pages shows the flag with a coat
of arms, while the "Symbols" section claims that the
coat of arms is currently under selection via a contest.
