Argent a plough gules and in a chief of the same a lion passant or.
Željko Heimer, 24 June 2003
The tool on the flag of Aranno is a plough (in Italian "aratro"). The name of the commune probably derives from the latin name "ara" (which means altar) but the tradition and popular opinion want it to derive from "arare" (to plough), hence the presence of this tool on the arms and flag.
