Argent a Bar Gules couped in bend sinister between three Roses of the same seeded proper.

The original French blazon is: "D'argent à la billette couchée de gueules, accompagnée de trois roses du même, boutonnées d'or, deux en chef et l'autre en pointe."

Pascal Gross, 29 November 2000

But how does that define the "slant" cut of the billet? I would have thought something like "à la billette couchée en barre de gueules" (or maybe even "à la billette taillé de gueules") i.e. "a billet couped in bend sinister Gules". Or am I fully wrong and French "couchée" is not equivalent to English "couped"?
