In the Constitution of the Métis Nation of the South is stated that "our
people occupy our Ancestral Territory, currently known as southern Canada, the
United States, northern Mexico,
and their surrounding areas".

According to their website, this group is a broader group than the group
commonly known as the "Métis". They seem to include all people of mixed Native
American with European or even African ancestry; this includes the Mestizos
of Mexico, which (if I understand correctly) is the majority of Mexicans.
