Guelph
The horse is representative of a horse of Hanover, the German Principality where the name of Guelph (or Gwelf) dated back for centuries. The "ancient" crown is symbolic of Guelph's distinction as Canada's Royal City. Guelph was the family name of the British Royal family. Red and White are the city colours, probably to mirror the official colours of England.
Ethan J Aquilina, 1 April 2002
The flag is that of the citizens of Guelph. There is also an official flag for the mayor.
Peter Allen Devries, 16 July 2004
