Holman, with a population of 423 (as of 1996), is also called by the traditional name of Uluqsaqtuua (meaning "where there is copper") and is located at 70°43'N lat. and 117°45'W long., on the southern shore of Victoria Island (or rather of the part of it that belongs to NWT). Local languages are Inuinnaqtun and English, and the community belongs to the electoral district of Nunakput and to the land claim area of Inuvialuit.
