About the Flag of Tutóia

The flag of was designed by a commission consisting of Professors Francisco das Chagas Sousa and José de Ananias Pereira dos Santos. It was made official by decree no. 56 of 28 January 1981. The designers chose as the field of the flag the color yellow to represent the beaches and dunes of the Tutóia coast. The field of the coat of arms represents brown brickwork, representing the clay that is typical of the region, with a landscape on the center showing dunes, the Andreza lighthouse, and a palm tree. The crest is a sun and the shield is flanked by crossed palm branches.
