Description

The Hastings Yacht Club (HYC), founded in 1960, is located in Hastings, Victoria. Hastings is the administrative and commercial centre of Western Port and the principal industrial area of the Mornington Peninsula. With a population of over 6,000, it is located 62 km south of Melbourne on the western shore of Western Port, just off the Frankston to Flinders Rd. Initially known as King's Creek it was renamed c.1860, either after Warren Hastings, the Governor-General of India, or after the town of Hastings in Sussex.

The burgee of the HYC is shown in two different graphic representations on the front page of the HYC website. It is, apparently, horizontally divided light blue- blue with a white triangle placed along the hoist and charged with a (normal) blue H.
