The coat-of-arms granted in 1954 was the full achievement of the local noble family Keutschacher including three helmets and crests. Although this was soon considered inappropriate for a municipaly symbol, the arms were never formally simplified to the shield alone. Therefore, the full arms is still used alongside the simpler version; at least a former version of the flag also showed the full arms [4], whereas the current flag version does show the shield only [3].
