The current Entre Ros provincial flag is locally known as Ramrez
flag. In the day of Ramrez and Artigas it
was known as the Federation Flag, as it stood for a movement, not for a
person.

The flag of the Federal Legue was hoisted
for the first time in Entre Ros by the federalist chieftain Eusebio Hereu
in 1815.03.13, at the Paran riverside, after defeating General Eustoquio
A. Daz Velez, governor of Santa Fe. His son and successor Lpez Jordan
kept on using the flag locally.

In 1822.03.12, local leader Lucio Mansilla, adopts as a provincial flag
the national flag with the new provincial coat
of arms, adopted at the same time. This flag was abandoned in 1824, when
Mansilla left the leadership.

Entre Ros had no official flag until 1833.12.28, when Governor General
Pascual Echague adopted a new provincial flag. This should show the
arms approved in 1822, but this was rarely done, usually
variants of the arms were used. This flag lasted till 1853, when the
Confederation was created.
Though it is said that Lpez Jordan still used it in his 1870 revolution.
