Presentation of Puka

The town of Puka (or Pukë; 6,495 inhabitants in 2005), located 30 km east of Shkodra, is the capital of a district in northern Albania (1,034 sq. km; 34,000 inhabitants in 2004). It was known in the antiquity as Epicaria. The poet Migjeni (1911-1938), from Shkodra, stayed there for a while during his short life.

Flag of Puka

A photography published on the website of the Presidency of the Republic, captioned "President Moisiu in a meeting in the Town Hall of Puka", shows the national flag and emblem of Albania and (most probably) the municipal flag of Puka. The flag is vertically divided green-red with in the middle a square light blue panel charged with a white bird (definitively not the Albanian eagle).
