Presentation of Liqenas / Pustec

The municipality of Liqenasi (Albanian name) / Pustec (Macedonian name) is inhabited by the officially recognized ethnic Macedonian minority in Albania (1,500 inhabitants in 2007). The place is also known as Mala Prespa, a part of the region of Prespa, split between Macedonia, Albania and Greece.

Flag of Liqenas / Pustec

On 19 September 2005, the municipality of Pustec adopted a flag, red with the municipal emblem, bears the Sun of Vergina in the middke. Authorized by the Albanian authorities, the flag is hoisted in front of the town hall between the national flags of Albania and Macedonia (as horizontal flags hoisted vertically!).
